Actually, it's a pinafore according to my 1960's Simplicity pattern. I think they are now called swing dresses.

The only thing I will change for future dresses (and I will be making this one again) is to add a button or snap on the back because a tie is not all that practical for a 2 year old, ya' know? Maybe I will just sew the bow on over a snap.
The thing I love about this dress is that it can be worn all year. In the winter you put over a long sleeve tee and pair it with leggings and in the summer you can just wear it with some little shorts. Plus it fits a 1 year old to a 3 year old. She can wear it for a couple of years. Freakin' adorable, right? (still wishing for a little girl)

I have been wanting to make some pillowcase dresses. They are adorable. If you take any pictures of Gabby in them please share!
