hello again

I'm finally back. I really just had a lot of digest after our trip to Minneapolis not to mention a ton of things to do before our next trip back to Minneapolis next week. Yes, we are going back again. It's a long drive for us (about 6-7 hours) but we all travel well and always enjoy the ride. I want to thank you all for your prayers and warm wishes after my last post. It means a lot to me.

While in hiding we experienced bone chilling temperatures. I believe it got down to 50 degrees below zero at one point. Here is a pic of my thermometer which reads -31 degrees Fahrenheit. Brrrr. If you notice the inside temp reads 66 degrees which means that it was colder inside my home than it was outside of our home in Arizona at that same time.

There was no way I was going outside let alone making my 4 year old freeze (because he is attached to my hip) so we stayed in. I have been wanting to try stenciling with freezer paper for some time now so I finally got around to making my son some cools tees. Yes, I realize that I am about 2 years behind on this craft.

This first design was my idea but he totally gets it. I love that he gets funny things way beyond his years.

Then we were on to making a Valentine's Day shirt. He picked out what we call the LuvBot. Cute, huh? I plan on adding some contrasting stitches to add a little funk to the design.

If you are thinking about making one (and you are one of the few people left on earth who haven't tried this method before) you should. It's pretty easy and for the first top I used regular acrylic paint (my closest craft store is 1 hour away). I read that it tends to chip or flake in the wash so I just washed the top on delicate, hung dry, and fluffed it up for a few minutes in the dryer and no flaking here. And the best part is that I have a tutorial for you here and a fabulous website with a ton of printable stencil ideas here.

I doubt I will have time to post again before our trip to Minneapolis but I will eventually get back on track.

Bless your frozen tootsies!

So my new blog design lacked the commenting of the post section, so I added a Cbox, which you found and used correctly!

I would love to see what you make. Crafting and margaritas keep me sane.

My tootsies are looking forward to thawing out soon(I hope). Stay warm.
